EASY CARAMEL

2 C sugar
1 C light corn syrup
1 C butter
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk.
In heavy saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and, butter. Bring just to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Continue boiling without stirring, at a moderate steady rate for 4 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in milk. Return to the heat. Reduce to medium low heat. Cook and stir until a candy thermometer reads 245 degrees (firm-ball stage) Pour in pan, when set, cut and wrap
I like to dip pretzel rods into it and then coat with chocolate.
